I like owning a feature from end to end, from the database schema and the API through to the interface someone actually clicks. I care about readable code, honest estimates, and systems that don't wake anyone up at 2 a.m.

Readable code

Code gets read far more often than it gets written. I write for the next person to open the file, who is usually me six months later.

Honest estimates

If it's three days, I say three days. If I don't know yet, I say that too, then go and find out fast.

Quiet nights

Validation, auth and sensible logging go in on day one, so production issues stay small and never turn into fires.
